We have an Australian Broadcasting Commission established on the same lines as the BBC, though I don't know if our management ever insisted that the radio newsreaders had to wear dress suits as required under Lord Reith in the BBC. I suspect Lord Reith would not be happy with the current state of affairs. The point of this comment is to report that the ABC is one of the places where there are people who claim that they don't know a single person in their circle of associates (in and out of work) who would consider voting for the current PM and his Liberal Party (or the National/country party) which makes up the governing coalition. Under these conditions certain kinds of bias are visceral and practically hard wired.

I agree. As my friend pointed out, "I just bought a TV and I have to pay (TV licence that goes towards BBC) to look at it"
